OFF THE CUFF WITH LESLIE GALLIN

We've got Vegas on the brain! With FN PLATFORM and WSA @MAGIC just around the corner, we sat down with Leslie Gallin, President of Footwear, UBM Fashion Group, for her recommendations for the season- from trends to spas, this is one list you're not going to want to miss.

Thanks for chatting with us Leslie! Let's kick this off with the Top Trends of FW17, According to Leslie Gallin

Theres a couple big trends we can expect to see this season.   Mules, specifically slides, are having a big moment.  Kitten heels are making a comeback as well, which I'm personally very excited about.  And lastly, anything and everything embellished! We're talking pearls, feathers and fur!

Any new brands you're excited about seeing at FN PLATFORM this season?

Well, I'm an LA girl so I can't help but show some support for some of our new, West Coast brands.  We're very excited to have Baske California showing this season- I particularly love their Pony Hair Boots.  Lou Earl is another brand I'm excited about. They have a minimal, clean aesthetic that's beautiful and the quality is amazing. Salpy shoes are handmade in Southern California- last season I went to their factory and watched the full process- let me tell you, it's stunning.  Patricia Green I love as well, the shoes are stylish and comfortable, you really can't go wrong.

Can you share your Las Vegas recommendations with us?

Well as I'm sure you know, I end up spending quite a bit of time in Las Vegas so my list is extensive, but I have a few must see's and must do's.  My Favorite restaurant on the strip is Milos.  It's fantastic Greek, located in the Cosmopolitan.  The fish is so fresh. There's also some amazing dining off the strip- Weiss's Deli in Henderson is my go to for lunch.

And if you end up with some free time, the Spa at the Wynn is a great place to relax and the Grand Canyon is only a short drive away.

My ultimate must when I'm in Vegas, however, is Pawn Shops! I always stop by a couple during my stay- some of my best jewelry buys have been from Vegas Pawn Shops.  You never know, you just might get lucky!
